We are the Steel City Destroyers

If you’re looking for our album, you're looking in the wrong place—we aren't a band. We are a community-minded music collective and a non-profit booking club rooted dead-center in the heart of the Pittsburgh punk rock scene. We like to think of ourselves as the connective tissue for the local DIY punk rock community. We organize the shows, back the touring artists, and do everything in our power to keep this city's underground culture loud, sweaty, and alive.

Out of the Ashes

Back around 2018, our founders, Mikey "Coldcuts" Petro and Chad Jockel, put this group together as a social club for anyone who shared a love for good times, good beer, and awesome music.

Everything changed when we lost Mikey. It was a massive hit to our family, but instead of letting the club fade, we turned our grief into a weapon for good. We expanded our mission entirely and transformed from a casual social club into a full-throttle charity and booking organization dedicated to uplifting the scene that Mikey loved so much.

Our DIY Ethos

We do things our way, which means operating on a strictly non-profit, grassroots model:

  • Funded by the Family: We keep this machine running entirely through merch sales and the annual dues of our members—a tight-knit crew of local punks. Yes, we literally pay money out of our own pockets for the absolute privilege of hauling gear and working our asses off at show.

  • 100% to the Artists: Because we cover our own overhead, we don't take a single dime from the door. Every single penny collected at the entrance goes straight into the pockets of the performing bands. No corporate service fees, no venue cuts, no BS.

Our primary fortress is Porky's Bar and Grill in Etna, where we regularly host high-octane lineups of punk, hardcore, rockabilly, and ska. We make sure regional acts get a packed house and the fair payday they actually deserve.

The Golden Rule

We only have one real law in this club. It was Mikey’s personal life philosophy, and it is printed on our hearts and our merch:
Don't be a turd!
It’s a beautifully simple code of conduct that keeps the vibes immaculate and the gatekeeping out. We are a family, and we look out for our own.

Now that you know who we are, it’s time to see if you can handle the heat. Consider this your formal invitation to come out, support DIY music, and see how we do things firsthand.

Catch us running amok at our next gig at Porky's, or better yet, clear your schedule for our absolute crown jewel of chaos: COLDCUTS FEST 7 on Saturday, October 3rd at Millvale Riverfront Park.

It’s a massive day of food trucks, tattoo artists, and a relentless lineup of bands playing right by the river.

Bring some cash for the touring bands, buy a shirt, and remember the rule: don't be a turd.

See you in the pit!
